MS Walk 2012

Next month my family and friends will gather as Team Plain Jane for one of my favorite events: the MS Walk. You can read about why I walk here.

My mom was diagnosed with MS in 1995 and has very courageously lived with the disease for 17 years.

She is a fighter. And I am so proud of her.

I think this will be the sixth time I've participated in the MS Walk. It is such a great event and I love that my family chooses to spend a day recognizing the disease and gathering with others who have similar challenges to offer and get support.

Last year Eric and I raised $582 on Words of Williams. You amazed us and gave generously -- even if we have never met. It meant so much to us.

Again we're asking for your support and prayer. Our financial goal this year is to raise $600.

Please don't feel pressured to give. But if you feel moved, click here to donate to the National MS Society in my name. Every dollar raised energizes us to keep walking for those who can't. I thank you for even considering it.

I'd love to hear if any of you are affected (directly or indirectly) by MS, and/or if you'll be at the Des Moines MS Walk. If so, we would love to meet up with you! Possibly the best thing about this blog is the community we've built and being able to connect and relate to you in that way would be an added bonus.
