Over the Weekend: Sept. 2-4, 2011

Friday

After work we headed north three-and-a-half hours to Minneapolis to visit our super awesome friends Joa and Andy. Kels and Joa were homies in high school.

They live in uptown and within walking distance to all the urban culture you could ask for. They don't own cars, which we think is sweet, so they gave us a taste of their culture as we walked a few blocks to pick up some Pizza Luce for supper.

We spent the evening on their back deck chatting and munching on some pizza pie. It was perfect.

Saturday

We arose in the morning and leisurely got ready for the day.

Headed to Isles for a breakfast treat. A small football-sized cinnamon roll and some fresh-squeezed orange juice was just the thing to fuel us up for a day of shopping.

We hit the Mall of America with high hopes of fulfilling some of Kelsey's maternity clothing needs. She seemed to have struck gold and was grinning ear-to-ear by the end of our shopping excursion. More to come on the purchases this week on Snappy Casual.

Dinner was a treat as we headed to the Uptown Cafeteria rooftop for some more great conversation and some sweet photo ops.

We did a little more uptown moseying before heading back to their place for some relaxation.

Sunday

We went to church in the AM, followed by a walk down to Lake Calhoun. We picked up some lunch at Bruegger's on the way and enjoyed the fall-esque weather and more fellowship.

Then the big finale: We made the trek to Calhoun Cycle to test drive our dream bikes. Destiny confirmed, we will be saving up for these beauties. They are everything we hoped they would be and more. Can't wait to finally make the purchase.

We then said goodbye to our friends and headed southbound for home. We stopped in Ames to have dinner with Kelsey's parents, who were babysitting Mylie while the rest of the Smith clan were at a Labor Day cookout.
