Movember Recap

Last week I told you about all the ways we have been supporting Kelsey's brother, Cole, and his battle with cancer. This week I wanted to share some photos and what's next for him.

Thanksgiving Celebration

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we gathered at Kelsey’s grandparents for our traditional Thanksgiving meal and fellowship. But this year was just a little different.

There was an over-abundance of upper lip hair amongst the male species. All of us rallied around for an end-of-Movember celebration. It also marked (close to) the end of Cole’s nine-week chemo treatment.

Kelsey's grandpa (bottom middle) had never had facial hair, but he stopped shaving to support his grandson (bottom left).

And all the women were dressed in festive mustache garb (scarves, sweaters, fake mustaches).

Movember Team Update

The Mustaches for Cole team ended up 26 strong and raised $560 toward men’s health. Here's how my mustache looked at the end:

What’s Next?

Now we wait until Cole's appointment with a specialist at Mayo Clinic in January to see how his treatment worked and what might lay ahead. It might be more chemo, or surgery to remove the tumor from his abdomen if it has shrunk enough.

There are a lot of unknowns, but we continue to pray for comfort, peace, healing and miracles so big that God is the only explanation.

How do you participate in social activism? We love the Pay It Backward idea that Deena posted about this month. We try to do that each Christmas before we head out of town!

This is our last sponsored post with Ford. We were compensated for our participation, but the opinions expressed are our own. As always, thank you for reading and supporting Team Williams.
