Disney World: Hollywood Studios

I was pretty excited for Hollywood studios. The other parks had been great, but I love the big thrill rides and they seemed to have a couple good ones. Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster were on my list of 'must rides' for the week. Kels was a trooper with the rides, but her motion sickness set in after Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. We got off the ride and she had to sit down for a few minutes with symptoms of hot flashes and dizziness. Should have took some Dramamine.

But sometimes the best rides are the ones you don't even know about. For Kelsey and I we stumbled upon Toy Story Mania. This turned out to be our favorite ride EVER! It was spectacular. It was similar to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, but you got 3D glasses and the moving ride spun you around in front of different arcade style screens where you shoot pies or darts at targets and try to rack up the high score. Ride. Exit. Get Fastpass. Ride again. Repeat as nessasary. We did this about 6 times.

Here was our itinerary for the day (favorites bolded and linked)

1. Arrive at park 30-40 minutes before official opening time. Obtain a park map and daily entertainment schedule. 2. Ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. 3. Ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Use FASTPASS if wait exceeds 30 min. 4. Ride The Great Movie Ride. 5. Obtain FASTPASSes for Voyage of the Little Mermaid in the Animation Courtyard. 6. Ride Toy Story Mania on Mickey Ave. (if open) 7. Take the Backlot tour. 8. If your FASTPASS show times for Voyage of the Little Mermaid are soon, return for your performance. Disney rarely enforces the return times on FASTPASSes, so you could also skip to Step 9 and return to 9. Work in Lights! Motors! Action! Extreme Stunt Show around lunch. 10. Explore the Streets of America on the way to Muppet-Vision 3-D. 11. See Muppet-Vision 3-D. 12. Head toward Echo Lake and ride Star Tours. Use FASTPASS if wait exceeds 20 min. 13. Work in Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Sounds Dangerous. 14. See Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. 15. Take the Magic of Disney Animation tour and work in Playhouse Disney Live on Stage if you have small children. 16. See Beauty and the Beast. 17. Tour Hollywood and Sunset boulevards. Enjoy Fantasmic!

Kaleb got an autograph from a pretty cool Army man. They looked so real!

Again our timing was epic. As the sun went down on our only day at Hollywood Studios, they lit up the streets with more lights than Clark Griswold ever imagined in his wildest dreams. I truly felt like I was in a fairy tale....I mean, a man's fairy tale, not a girly one.
